This Privacy Policy explains how ILANÉE B.V. collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit ilanee.com or place an order with us. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch law.

2. What information we collect
When you place an order or interact with our store, we may collect: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, telephone number, order and payment details, and any correspondence you send us. Payment card details are processed directly by our payment providers and are not stored by us.
When you browse our store, we automatically receive certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you use our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).
3. How we use your information and our legal bases
We use your personal information to:
- Process and deliver your orders, handle returns, and provide customer service. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Comply with our legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and consumer law requirements. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- Send you marketing communications about our collections and updates, where you have signed up. Legal basis: your consent.
- Improve and secure our website, understand how it is used, and support our advertising. Legal basis: our legitimate interests, or your consent where required for cookies.
4. Marketing
With your permission, we may send you emails about ILANÉE, new collections, and other updates. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time, either through the link in any marketing email or by contacting us at support@ilanee.com. Withdrawing your consent does not affect our ability to contact you about orders you have placed.
5. Who we share your information with
We share your personal information only with trusted service providers who help us operate our store, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to us. These include our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment providers, our email marketing platform (Klaviyo), and our shipping and returns partners (including SendCloud and our carriers). We also use advertising and analytics providers such as Meta and Google.
These providers process your information under their own privacy policies and under agreements that require them to protect your data. We may also disclose your information where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our site uses cookies, small files stored on your device, to make the site work, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and support our marketing. Essential cookies are necessary for the site to function. Analytics and marketing cookies, including those set by Google Analytics and Meta, are used only where permitted, and where required we ask for your consent.
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect how the site works.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process your information outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information remains protected, for example through the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Order and financial records are retained for as long as required by Dutch law, currently seven years for tax and accounting purposes. Marketing data is kept until you withdraw your consent.

We take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to ensure your personal information is not lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed inappropriately. Information is transmitted using secure encryption. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to meet recognised security standards.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe we have not handled your information properly.
11. Children
Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16 without appropriate consent.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes take effect once posted on this page, and we will update the date above. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
